Lately we’ve seen more options for where and how people get their work done sprouting up. This is especially prevalent in the bay area, where more and more startups are being born every day, and small business owners are looking for ways to save money to keep their company afloat. One of the best ways to save money is to find an alternative to renting an office space. Rent prices are rising around the country, but they seem to be especially expensive here, so anyone starting a business might be feeling unsure about finding an actual office space.
Luckily, coworking spaces provide a great alternative to the old way of doing things. They’re much more affordable than traditional office spaces, and come with a few different perks that make you happy to come in every day.
High Speed Internet
One alternative a lot of business owners consider in the beginning phase of their business is working from a cafe, or starbucks. This is probably just because it’s become a known place to go if you need free internet. However, since this has become such a popular place for people to conduct business or even work on school projects, the Wi-Fi speed tends to be slower than it used to be. With around 20 people connected, the wifi of a place that isn’t 100% dedicated to workers might not be able to handle it. At a coworking space, we’re constantly monitoring the Wi-Fi speed and usage to make sure that even at our busiest, everyone has lightning fast internet access.
Coffee
One of the things most people need in order to get into the spirit of a busy work day is coffee. Even if you’ve switched to decaf, the ritual of having your cup of coffee in the morning usually helps get your brain going in the morning. If you’re like me, you usually need another boost a little over halfway through your day as well. However, waiting in line for your coffee, whether it’s in those crazy long ones in the morning rush, or the less chaotic afternoon stop, can cause you to break any stride you had gotten into, or prevent you from getting started earlier than you do. Having coffee provided for you at the coworking space you work from can be a huge time and money saver, and next time you need a new cup, you won’t have to break your rhythm to grab a refill.
Conference Rooms
Meeting an investor can be a make or break moment for your business, so it’s important to do it in an environment that gives an air of importance and professionalism. There are several different conference room options available to rent at your new coworking space, all of which come with the A/V equipment you need to make a professional presentation.
